The firm that wishes to employ you must have a license to employ non-Czech nationals, and you must prove that you have the job before applying for the permit. Once you find a job, you must apply for a residency permit (this often requires a trip to a Czech consulate in a different country to apply for the permit).
The documentation you have to submit to obtain a work permit is:
- Permission for the Employer to employ foreign personnel
- Application form
- A copy of your passport
- If you already have a residency permit, send it too
> FINDING A JOB
Finding a job in the Czech Republic can be easy if you know where to look for it.
As in every other Eastern European country, the best way to look for a job is through the local papers. In this case, the other option is to use the Internet as a job-hunting tool.
We invite you to take a look at the websites we recommend in the Useful Links section bellow.
Are you planning to start a business in the Czech Republic? Then the best source of information to look for the right answers is the website of the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic. The English version can be found at the following website: www.hkcr.cz/en/services.html
Contact the nearest Embassy of Consulate of the Czech Republic if you need further information.
